The Soup Is On!

My partner Michi sent me such a package of pretties I had a hard time actually buckling down and making things! Luckily a friend solved the issue of what to do with the focal because she claimed it and ordered a necklace. Phew!

Owlie

She had an example necklace for me to measure from – a long chain necklace with front pendant – and away I went! All orders and requests should be that simple!

Owlie

I added a few of the accent beads, the pretty handmade clasp and a few of my bits and bobs onto the centre of the necklace and hung Michi’s adorable owl. Voila!

Copper & Green

There were these neat faceted lampwork beads in a green that grew on me. There’s a few in the main necklace with the focal and on the back of him there’s a green lampwork heart with the same colour. The earrings are simple copper and green pieces to go along with the necklace.

Wrap Bracelet

There was this length of pretty silk ribbon and I’ve never made a wrap bracelet so… my chance was here! I used a few of my brass charms, flower beads and one of the spacers from the soup. All fun!

The soup included a lot of great lampwork beads that I would have called focals in their own right. One of them is my next necklace… other friends are calling for their own versions but we’ll see if I can part with any!

Bead Soup

This was an amazing bead soup! If you haven’t visited Michi’s blog yet to see HER reveal (and what she did with all my crazy flowers) you should! And then you need to surf the list below and see what all of the other soup chefs made! As always, thanks to Lori for organizing this crazy trip. The beady world is a much happier place with your time and help! You make huge undertakings look simple and polished even in the face of trouble.

  1. Oh Ellaine, what a lovely soup, you’ve cooked! I fell in love with copper at my second BSBP-participation.It wents so well with glasswork, and I am so glad, you’ve used it too. And I learnt, that also brass is a very charming component for jewelry making. I can see, you used your beautiful flower beads in the bracelet the same way I did. They are soooo romantic! Love your charming bracelet – I still have some of your lovely flowers in stash – I think, I’ve to make my own one, too…. :0) Thank you for beeing my partner – it was such a great pleasure for me! xoxo, Michi

  2. Great work. I would have loved to see the whole necklace and the handmade clasp. A different shot beads you received would be good too.

  3. Too bad your friend already called that necklace of yours because I would have snatched it up in a heartbeat! I love Owls, especially that adorable lampwork one you received in your soup ^.^

You did such a beautiful job with your soup!

  4. Gorgeous pieces! Love them all. The owl focal is great and I like the way you have wired some tiny seed beads over the top of a larger bead. The wrap bracelet is beautiful and the earrings are very pretty – great colours.

  5. I love all your pieces!
I’m on the 3rd reveal, I’m partecipating for the 3rd time on BSBP, what a fun 🙂
    ciao dall’Italia
