Last week we climbed in the car and headed from Swift Current to Coquitlam. We’re talking 17 hours here folks! I set up for the bead show, sold a few beads. I bought beads too, of course:
This isn’t the masses I usually grab because there were no great bargains so I just went with the higher end goodies in a small dose. I did have the great fortune to meet or run into other beady types including a few other polymer clay artists. It was so cool to be able to talk clay to others!
After the show we spent a little more time in the Vancouver area and went to the aquarium. I snapped a picture of the jellyfish right before my camera battery died (and, yes, I brought the wrong replacement battery):
All in all the trip was good and educational but as with all travel things I’m happy to be back home in my little comfy studio doing my thing.
I signed me (well, Tooaquarius) up for the spring Fraser Valley Bead Show, March 22nd to March 24th. The organizer isn’t sure she’ll do a Calgary one this year so I signed up for the one in Coquitlam, BC. Which is about 18 hours straight west from here. Yikes!
Thing is we’d been talking about hitting the west coast for fun and this is right before Easter break so hey… we’ll head out, sell beads to bead peeps and spend a few extra days looking around. The kiddo has never seen an ocean.
So yeah, look for Tooaquarius at the FVBS – taking place at the Executive Plaza Hotel in Coquitlam on Friday March 22 thru Sunday March 24. Should be a blast!
Seems so odd to think of Calgary as East but it is, indeed, east of Fraser Valley, BC. Barrie Edwards successful Fraser Valley Bead Show is going to do a show in Calgary this year. I’m going to be selling my polymer clay beads there along with a lot of other Alberta, Saskatchewan and BC shops and artisans.
The show runs June 1st through 3rd at the Coast Plaza Hotel and I’ll make sure and pop up a coupon here for folks to use at the show with me. Or a free bead of choice… something like that. If you have an opinion of what kind of promo to do, weigh in!
The Sunday before the FVBS I’ll be at the Calgary Lilac Festival – 4th year in a row! I need you to all start crossing whatever crosses so that the sun shines down all day long that day and the wind is mild.
