I realized, belatedly, that I had missed my Bowl Goals post last week (and all the other posts too but there’s another story!). I can only plead distraction as I was busy making Thing-a-Days. Here’s my catch up and it’s been a regular bead making factory around here this week:
As to what was distracting me, there were orders for which some of those beads are, preparing for an oncoming long weekend trip and my upcoming birthday! Valentines Day is my birthday and this year we’ll be in the small town I’m heading to at the end of the school year.
I’m just like a lot other people. Sometimes the motivation to reach big goals goes right out the window. Last year, as I was putting my online craft selling self together, I stumbled across Thing-A-Day. The premise is to make something every day for the month of February. I did it last year, more or less, and signed back up this year! You can see what I did in Feburary of 2008 by looking at my entries on TAD from then.
The picture has nothing to do with the post, really, except that it’s one of the things I made this week. A customer asked for a cane of her graphic which was a simple triskellian. I quite like it.
Anyways, if you need a kickstart to meet your productivity goals come join us on Thing-A-Day 2009! It’s a good way to start a new and positive habit.
Yup, I noticed that 2008 started a month ago. Lashes with wet noodles all ’round here at HQ. It’s not that I haven’t clayed, it’s just that I haven’t gotten organized at all. So in a bid to get my rear in gear, I set more ambitious goals – even if some were less than successful – and decided to concentrate on the move forward.
Towards THAT goal I signed up for the Thing-a-Day at www.thing-a-day.com – someone on the PCC boards mentioned it. I believe she’s one of the same people who got me trying the NaNoWriMo… a whole other story of insanity.
Anyways, the Thing-A-Day is brutally simple. You make something – anything really – a day and then (ah, the catch) post it to their site. For me, there’s an extra catch – I’m going to try for every one of those things to be clay related. Bonus points if I manage that! It runs the 29 days of February and then you all pass out. Or pat yourself on the back.
