So my saga starts with how I decided I would open a shop… and still do all the other things I do most springs. This may not have been the most sensible thing in the universe and as a result I’m playing catch up. I luckily ended up with the patient and talented Allison Fitzpatrick (who lives pretty darn close, comparatively). She also has an Etsy shop at Polka Dots and Paisley.
While I was dragging my feet and going a little nuts she sent me a cute box filled with nice soup:

All the nicely arranged colours and shapes… it didn’t take much figuring to whip up a couple of necklaces which my patient sidekick helped model:

This one was a cluster of big chunky soup bits, a length of chunky chain and a key charm from my pile. It just worked, instantly. The next piece was a little daintier one with a few of my flower beads and some of the smaller elements from the soup:

The kiddo prefers the smaller necklace because it hangs where she likes her necklaces to hang. I think they both worked pretty well… picking colours was a breeze since Allison put together some super combos.
The big turquoise nugget is waiting for me to find my drill bit in the new shop space so that I can ream the hole a bit… it will be wonderful strung on leather cord with some of the silver and glass from the soup.
Despite all of my bumps this time around I managed to squeak in. This is my fourth Bead Soup Blog Party. You can see year one with Cilla Watkins here, year two with Judith Johnston here and year three with Michi Pabeschitz here.
As always, tons of thanks and credit goes out to Lori Anderson who arranges and runs this every year. This year was particularly trying and she still pulled it off!

That second necklace is absolutely exquisite!
Pretty soup, Elaine! I’m still in love with you little charming clay flower beads! :0)
They both turned out very cute! I especially love the combination of the stones with some of your incredible flowers.
Both pieces look great! How wonderful that you have your very own model. I just love your little flowers too.
Wonderful necklaces – I love them both! 🙂
Two very lovely necklaces. And a super model, lucky you. Nice work.
Love the gathered focals, I have to learn how to do that! Great job!

I just love that big red/fuchsia bead! And the flower necklace is just darling. Your model did well, too!
Thank you so much for participating!
Such lovely work well done!
Both pieces are beautiful but I am with kiddo I love the flower necklace!
I feel you on the time evaporating this spring! I think you still managed some beautiful jewelry to adorn a beautiful model
Both lovely necklaces! Great job!
I love the bold beads in your soup! I love what you did with it too… and especially love that you incorporated your pretty flower beads into the second necklace!
I think I agree with the kiddo 🙂 but then that’s where I like my necklaces to sit too!
Both lovely pieces and well done!
Both necklaces are gorgeous! And I must admit I am completely smitten with your flowers, my soup partner, Penny of Copper Penny designs just gifted me some beauties from you and I had so much fun using them 🙂
Love both necklaces! I’m a fan of your flower beads, so I was excited that you used them here 🙂 Great work!
both necklaces are so nice, but the floral one- sweetest!
Your necklaces are sweet and beautiful!

I really enjoyed how you were able to use your soup in a way that highlighted the two different scales of design — both necklaces are lovely!
So cute and sweet!!!
Alenka
Your lovely model, Kiddo, is right about the flower necklace. It’s perfect for her. As for me…..I love that big chunky one!
How beautiful. And I like it your daughter helped model I am trying to get mine to model a set for me…..great job and combination of colors!
Yes, they did both work out REALLY well! I like the clustery-ness of both of them. However, the daintier one is my favorite. . .though I can’t quite explain why, the daintiness perhaps. In any case I think they are both great.
Love those little flowers♥ pendant especially… 2 beautiful necklaces to wear right now during the ‘almost’ summer! Have fun when wearing!
I like how both of your necklaces came out. I especially like the daintiness of the second one. Nice job!
Delightful work! Really Soup-er! Yep I’m still hopping! Don’t want to miss a thing!
Beautifully assembled pendants! I like the choice of a chunkier chain and the big clasp for the first one and the dainty dangle of the second!
