Welcome to the Art Bead Scene’s ornament blog hop! We were all challenged to pick from our art bead stash and make ornaments. I went with my birdie and house beads to make simple little ornaments:
Both ornaments were fishing expeditions in the bowls of bead soup in my work area. By this point in my beady life, there are plenty of bits of ribbon, wire, stone and everything else to make some cute little things!

I’ve been thinking of caning a house. Yours is inspiring!
Caning houses would be a simple thing – did a bunch of houses that were all canes, made from ends of other canes for the roof. This one was a bit more of a mix of techniques but the idea is still good. The benefit is, you could reduce the roof and the bottom separately then just join them together after, when the cane was at the size you wanted to use it at.
ahhhh the little house is super
Both of these are adorable !
I love your beads!
m.e. 🙂
Love them! And I wish I had little birdies & houses in my stash:)
What sweet ornaments! I adore the house and bird beads.
Elaine, these are awesome, the first time I’ve seen your little houses… I haven’t been keeping up, obviously LOL. I think extruder canes would be a great starting point for this kind of geometric design.
Lovely ornaments… think I like the bird better! The blue bead on the bird will be a lovely contrast on a tree!
These are both sweet and fun. I like the idea of digging through the bead bowls to use up orphans for your ornaments.
I love your ornaments. I love them both so much I couldn’t pick a favorite! 🙂
Love them! 🙂 Of course I love your beads so they would look great in any ornaments!!
From soup to ornaments…magically! Both are really nice!
Oh that sweet little house! It looks like a wee elf would live there! And I think I have one of your wee houses. I must find it and whip up one of these! Isn’t it nice when all your goodies are within reach? I have to remember this the next time I need a quick start. I will make ornaments! So glad you joined us on this hop! Enjoy the day! Erin
I love how the bird looks like wood and the colors on the roof on your house bead are really cute.
Oooh – I want both! These are fabulous!
Both are very sweet!
So sweet! I love the little house bead. Do you sell them?
Love them! Your houses are so cute! Great way to use up beads too!
Love them both…but I really love the birdie…do you stock these in your store?
