Phew!

Last weekend we had company, my folks visiting for the Easter weekend. So I figured the blends that my helpful friend had done up for me would have to wait. Not so! The men went and did house fixes and repairs and put up trims.

My mom came and hung out with me in the studio and we chatted while we did our favourite things: she had a paperback and I had my clay.

It was a good start to the week and I finally finished my stack of canes from those blends:

Cane Making

I’m toasting my little blog’s 4th birthday this week! It doesn’t seem so long ago when it was just a not-yet-conceived bit of software and hopeful thought.

I’m also cranking my way through a lot of clay blended to my specs by my helper and turning it into mucho canes. So, pics of that tomorrow hopefully. Until then raise a glass for my precocious preschooler!

April Flowers

I know I have it in reverse, April Flowers and not April Showers. I’m hoping it stays this way though, nice and warm and flowery. Even if the flowers are clay ones in my bead bowls.

Bowl of Flowers

I made more of the beads I’ve used for the last few dangle flower pieces. I’m hoping to get enough of these to assemble quite a selection of bracelets, necklaces and earrings for my upcoming big shows. Extra beads to sell at the bead show would be icing on the cake because the shape of these makes for fun pieces.

Bracelet and Necklace

I have a whole stack of new canes in progress here (apart from the ones that made these beads!) so more pictures in a day or two. And I’m off to spend the proceeds of the Most Excellent Show last week on more clay!
